Avengers, because they've consistently put out better story arcs than Justice League. But that's more cos of the writers. I actually like the characters on the Justice League better individually, but the Avengers as a team tend to be more entertaining.`
Oh...so tough cuz I love heros from both sides. Batman is awesome but I love ironman about as much. Not entirely sure but just cuz a Justice League movie hasnt been made...yet, I'll go with Avengers, but if DC does make a justice league movie and its also extremely good, that might change.
I've never liked the Justice League and DC comics are always so....horribly written-unless it's Batman. Also those characters are such cookie cutter perfections that they seem more like self-insert dolls rather than complicated people. The only reason I would choose Avengers....is because of the movie version of Iron Man. He rocks it and practically makes the team it's own personality. Otherwise both comic versions...Neither, because while the movie is fine the comics shifts through so many characters in the Avengers....you can't really say to like it as a whole unless you like 90% of those characters. and obviously I'ved never cared for DC whose characters need more personality.
Hmmm...Well even though there has been a movie made I feel that the characters on JLA or more Iconic and known than in the Avengers. Before the Avengers Movie most people who weren't comic fans either knew little, nothing or thought of the unrelated 60's Avengers show.
Yeah... I think that the JLA characters probably were probably better known before the Avengers movie too. I admit, I knew little of them either- I'd only started reading the comics because I knew the film was coming out. Still, it's a good way for people who aren't into comics to get to know the characters!
I don't know! That's a real tough one. Too bad I can't pick both... Avengers only because of the movie (yes, I read the comics and seen the 90's and 2000AD cartoon series). If I had picked Justice League, it's for the animated series and Young Justice.
I can't choose... I recently saw Young Justice and because of this, I started to read/see some DC... But I really like Marvel and Avengers, and X-Men and all the super-vilains, characters, indepedant... But now that I really like some DC Comics, I really can't choose :/ ... But if I have to choose one character from Marvel or DC... I'll choosed Deadpool. Because Deadpool is Deadpool XD and my favorite character ever !
i like the IDEA of the justice league better, but in practice, the avengers are almost universally awesome, while DC has spent the last 10 years doing the publishing equivalent of slamming it's hand in a drawer over and over.
I go with the JL because everyone of the core members (and by this I mean the animated series) are all pretty well matched in terms of extreme power. But Black Widow and Hawk Eye seem a bit outpaced by the others, no offense. I just have a hard time believing that they could come out alive when the others are on the brink of some far out galactic battle.
Though if there were more options I would have sooner picked Goku and the rest of Kame Senin School. But they don't have a cool team name. But how about the League of Extraordinaire Gentlemen? I'd give them a vote.
DC honestly irritates me; I've read a wide variety of their stuff and none of it's as appealing as the Marvel heroes to me... The DC ones lean too heavily on the epic side (Even Thor isn't as much of an Epic Hero as Superman, although from the type of story they star in, you would expect the reverse!), and most of the women in the stories are pretty weak. Marvel characters just seem more human to me.
I go JSA. They make more sense, given there environment and era. As far as the two choices; I have to say Avengers. Again, they make more sense in their setting and the line-up is more complimentary and balanced.
well for me it falls down to the teamwork perspective. the avengers (when needed) will show up without a second thought, take down the bad guy, and then go out for shwarma. the JL will get the call, go to the moon (JL headquarters) debate a bit on who gets to go. they go, kick but, batman sulks, and then they all return to their respective areas of the world.
I've definitely always been more of a Marvel guy. However, DC's Elseworld stuff are some of my favorite graphic novels. Dark Knight Returns and Kingdom Come I've read numerous times and Batman Year One is probably my single favorite graphic novel of all time.
The Avengers are simply deeper, more compelling characters. There is something about them that makes them far more human. They're flawed, they make mistakes, and they aren't paragons of goodness. Superman wears on a man, what with his perfection. Captain America, Superman's closest Avengers parallel, is far more human (Superman being an alien notwithstanding) and imperfect.
