Petey...Spidey by CoranKizerStone Petey...Spidey by CoranKizerStone
I never really did one of these things so I thought I'd show you guys my version of Petey and Spidey. I'm a big fan of the Super Dorko Peter Parker from the early 60's more then the modern cool ass Petey of today. To me the Geek Pete was the ultimate mask. No one ever suspects a friendless braniac loser with a hunch to be the super strong, wall crawling, web swinging hero. I wanted to elongate his porportion and give him very lanky figure. This look to me sort of makes him look more "SPIDER" like when he pops on the suit. Anyways...Tell me what ya think of my version fellow devs.

Very charming. Not a big superhero fan, but your way of interpreting characters and personalities is downright charming. :)

I like lanky but this is a bit too lanky. His bones are surely toothpicks!
Either way I find it nice.

Gotta love lanky Spidey, it's a nice change from the buffed up heroes we see these days.
YdacRetsim Featured By Owner Jan 18, 2015  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Why don't more people draw Spidey as a lanky guy? I get that he bulks up over time, but honestly, I like the idea that the scrawny nerd just got definition and power without hulking out.

I agree with you, the dorky Peter of the 60īs is my ultimate spider-man too :)
1n3br14t3d Featured By Owner Nov 4, 2012
I like that Spidey isn't muscular. It makes his strength more "Amazing" and "Spectacular." I also like Peter's apparent dorkiness. He looks like a target of a certain High School demographic. I like bigger eyes on mask usually but yours are fine. Excellent job *kizer180 !!!
Sketchthekid Featured By Owner Aug 16, 2012
AAAAAA BIT more muscular, please?!

Five years later and the makers of the Amazing Spider-man flick seem to agree with you. Pete and Spidey both look like teenagers. That spider-strength doesn't have to translate to ripped muscles and mega flexing. It's a super power in a comic so you can let his physicality represent the personality. Reminds me of the Ditko classics with a fresh spin and you didn't have to change the iconic costume at all!

I agree with you - I always thought the best Peter Parkers were the super-geeky friendless ones. They appealed to me as a child the most, because I was geeky and friendless, and for that reason he was always my favorite superhero. Relatability, and all that. Maybe it's why I always go for the lanky geeks in the guys that I date.... Who knows, lol.

Your dream guy is Peter Parker. lol

so true, I too love the old character for that very same reason and it showed that people can be more than there appearences.

Spidey looks a little underwhelming here ahah.

Yes yes yes! This is exactly Peter/Spidey. This has always been Peter to me in my mind.

Again genius.
Kerevon Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2011
Eeyup. Spider-Man: So shrimpy you'd NEVER suspect he can stop a car with his bare hands. Mind you, he USUALLY resorts to stopping it with his webbing, which in most versions is an incredibly strong and quickly decaying substance that he invented, which is actually cooler in some ways.

Your illustrative style is beautiful; clean, fun, and lively. As I'm a huge Spidey fan, my only disappointment is that I'd love to see what you'd do to the suit if you had a chance to redesign it!
Koji-Tsunami Featured By Owner Aug 16, 2011
This works pretty much the same way the superman one works. The secret identity is so geeky that they're not a suspect! How wonderful.

I like Peter to be super skinny.
acoefe1 Featured By Owner Jul 22, 2011
I just love it.
I truly think u got it right.
The personality that u described fits perfectly the character that spiderman was and should have stayed.

I don't know why but this is kinda silly and great at the same time.
Shademan12 Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2011
Haha Pete looks like a hipster xD I think spidey is a bit too thin though
VengfulDead Featured By Owner Oct 21, 2010
although iron man is my favorite , i can admit spiderman is the greatest hero of them all.

I'm very interested in your depiction of Peter Parker...he's very put-it-out-there for his usual character, especially with the spidey necklace he's wearing but great style however! :D

I'm with your version ;)
Ellemnian Featured By Owner May 2, 2010  Student Digital Artist
U got the nerd feeling quite well. Color's and lines are great and everything feel's balanced and in place, i just don't find peter's face that atractive in your version, but that's a bit cos i like those geekish version's where he takes off the glasses and look's all migthy xD.
Btw the ultimate version of peter is still a bitt dorky, aside of 3 hot girlfriend xD
imavampyrinconverse Featured By Owner Mar 28, 2010  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
and this is EXACTLY why Peter Parker/Spiderman is my favorite super hero :D hes geeky, clumsy, not rich, but he becomes an awesome superhero >.< and the idea of elongating his body is great definitely brings out the "spideyness" :D
ridley100 Featured By Owner Mar 28, 2010  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
You've really upped the geek factor here.
ParasiticCandy Featured By Owner Mar 14, 2010
Amazing rendition of Spidey! :O

The nerdy-lanky Peter was young Peter.

But because hes grown older and has been fighting super-powered maniacs on daily basis for years,he has naturally gotten stronger.

But Mr. Parker is still a HUGE nerd on the inside. :D
ridley100 Featured By Owner Mar 28, 2010  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Seconded. 90s Peter is 60s Peter, only significantly older and more experienced.
JoCar250 Featured By Owner Feb 14, 2010
WE need a dorky superhero lon live dorky parker

I liked geeky pete too. To me spider-man should never be that huge, he should be muscular but thin like bruce lee. I love this, you have brought fun back to spidey.
