Goliath by CoranKizerStone Goliath by CoranKizerStone
Another commish for a close friend of mines. She's into goliath from the popular 90's cartoon "gargoyles". It's one of my absolute favorite toons aswell from back in the day so I had no prob doing it up for her. Even though I kinda did my own thing on this feller she really liked it so I'm happy. Lova Ya Jen!!

I love how he looks aged, like that Batman comic. That's how I'd like to see a new series one day.

*Laughs* Yeah I love Gargoyles. I wish Nintendo would have it for SNES, but they canceled that along with Super Star Fox 2. Man!

That was one of my favorite cartoons back when it was first on tv around 1994 or so , im from canada and they had it on Tv once a week in a 2 hour dysney cartoon showing , Darkwing Duck , talespin , Gargoyles , i cant remember all the cartoons , but Gargoyles was the cartoon i always looked forward to watching .

can you do a drawing of Goliath in his stone body but his head not in stone , watching the knights crushing his gargoyles kind . kind of like he's enraged face in motion , but body unable to physically stop them.

Just got back into this, and started browsing dA for stuff, this is pretty nice. I like that you took your own spin on the big guy, turned out nice! Seems like you'd be good at drawing lots of fantasy stuff like orcs and whatnot, I love it! Keep it up, I'd like to see how you'd draw Hudson someday! :D

This picture is awesome! My only complaint is that mace is way too small for him! He should use something bigger like a human torso or something.

Wow! That's a very individual take on the usually Abercrobmbie and Fitch modal style Goliath (which I have absolutely no problems with *ding dong*), and I still think he looks pretty...what's the word? Halopenia!

This is really good in-and-of itself, but in my opinion, it doesn't look like Goliath. He looks too brute-like and barbaric here, that's not the Goliath that I know and love. Sure, Goliath had a temper and was certainly strong, but he wasn't a brute in my book--err--cartoon?

I'm a little dark and twisted. Sorry for that...:D

Wow... he's aged like 50 years in this pic. I'll definitely fave and add you to my watch list :D
EmaCamU Featured By Owner Jan 13, 2009
is awesome, be sure, but for be goliath it needs the lil hors on his head and the joe dirt's hairstyle
Heart-of-the-Sun Featured By Owner Apr 1, 2009
He has the brow spikes here, they're just jut out or point down rather than pointing up as they do in the cartoon.

Wow this is really cool looking, he's like a more barbaric version of Goliath. And I used to love that show as a kid!! My favorite characters were Goliath, Demona, Bronx and Hudson.
LawLiEnt Featured By Owner Dec 20, 2008

very cool, one of my fave cartoons when i was younger.
GoliathsBane975 Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2008's almost as if Frank Miller did HIS take on Goliath. If this picture could talk, I imagine Goliath would have a very 'Sin City' attitude, almost as if Marv and Manute were combined into one person and then transformed into a Gargoyle. He has a HUGE, proud forehead, less pronounced cranial ridges and a very gangster-esque grimace. The mace is a nice touch; it harkens back to Goliath's first one-on-one conflict with Macbeth (who would also look very kick-ass if he were drawn in this fashion). The bulky body design and highly over-developed musculature are indicative of the earlier Batman comics that Frank Miller became famous for in the mid 1980s. The contrast between the background and his flesh-tones ia bit muted and foggy, but not to a significant degree. The 'Conan the Barbarian' scowl that he has on his face is rather intimidating, but also somewhat familiar...I do believe that Brooklyn has a very similar jaw structure. The theme is very combative and war-like, and even the clothing Goliath wears has gone from a strap of cloth to what looks like a fur pelt held in place by a heavy belt. Color layering may help bring the image into a more three-dimentional realm, but overall, a very creative and visually appealing piece. Well done, Mr. Kizer.
aniphx Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2008
I see him as part Goliath, part Hulk. And you definitely added some grit to the character. Seems a bit more befitting him.
