Bruce......Bats by CoranKizerStone Bruce......Bats by CoranKizerStone
This guys is a pretty complex dude.
Every body knows that the Playboy, Womanizing
Bruce Wayne is an act. That playful rambunctious Bruce before his parents were killed doesn't exist anymore so he never grew to become that kind of man. Vengeance and hatred pretty much took it's place. So His whole life after that point was consumed by getting back at the people who reminds him of his tragic past.
So he prepares himself because he knows that going after such men was inevitable. He defeats his greatest childhood fear by becoming it and "Batman" is the result. So I feel the masked mysterious man of vengeance who wants to strike fear in the hearts of man is the real Bruce Wayne. But this again is my opinion. What do you guys think?....

Nice build, well-rounded to allow for both agility and power.

The way I see it, Batman is the real identity while Bruce Wayne is the mask. He IS Batman, and he'll always see himself as Batman even as he passes his legacy onto Dick and Terry.

I feel like he almost has three personalities. He has Batman, which is the one he's in most often, all growls, no jokes (seriously, the Joker's his archenemy) and completely serious. His whole purpose is to no out there and make sure that no other eight year old goes without parents because of "some punk with a gun". It is his whole driving purpose, and the reason he is who he is today.

Then he has Bruce Wayne. Not serious at all, only out to have fun, and enough money for himself and the whole world. (I've always imagined that in his head he'd have to think of himself in third person, so he wouldn't accidentally slip up and say "me" or "I" when referring to Batman as Bruce Wayne—or vice versa) Though, it's a given of course that he's not an idiot playboy, the Bat can't allow for that sort of frippery.

Finally, there's Bruce. Just Bruce, no cameras, no costume. He gets to just be himself. :) I feel like this version of him is the truest, a mixture of the other two. He is still serious and kinda grumpy, paranoid and suspicious, and also very guarded concerning his feelings; like Batman. But, like Bruce Wayne, he has a heart, and genuinely cares about people, ESPECIALLY his family and friends. I'd also like to think that having to grow up so quickly and abruptly made him end up as sort of childish ("No Alfred, I don't need to eat, I'm Batman." "Batman doesn't need sleep!" "It's too late in the morning for this, let me sleep!")

That's just my take on him though, and him being my favorite hero ... Wow. This is gonna be a long post. I really like the portrayal however, even if neither one is really him! (Again, it's just my opinion, you got Batman AND Bruce Wayne perfect! Though, I would say the real challenge would be drawing Bruce. Just Bruce.) ;)

I do love it, draw more!!

This is very close to how I picture Batman when I am not being informed by a particular comic book artist (or the Bruce Timm animated version). Though I never pictured Wayne in a turtleneck, I do think it works.
nightcrawlerfan19 Featured By Owner Dec 14, 2013  Student General Artist
Mostly true, though Bruce has become more important in recent years as he gets more involved in philanthropy. And I like to think that Bruce is less inspired by anger and hate and more by the desire to make sure no one else suffers as he has. Especially since there are heroes who have far more violent back stories, like Wolverine, Hulk, even, arguably, Flash.

I agree. He basically uses "Bruce Wayne" as a means of supporting Batman. Be that in gaining information or keeping Batman funded, Bruce is almost another tool off of Batman's utility belt. ;) Very nice art too! :D

revenge doesn't necessarily mean your out to kill.

it does when you deal with killers

I have always admired Batman (even though he isn't real) because of all the pain he went through. It makes me look back at my life and say "the bad things in my life are like mosquito bites compared to Batman's"

Bruce Wayne died when he was 8 with his parents after that there was only batman
Maki-P Featured By Owner Dec 28, 2011
I always assumed that it was like that. I think the "Divided we Fall" storyline supported that; I mean Bruce without the Bat was kinda nuts because he was that anger and desired for revenge without an outlet
LeafblightTheGreat Featured By Owner Dec 25, 2011
Bruce has said himself numerous times that the face beneath the cowl is the real mask :P

I love it! You've done a fantastic job of depicting both sides of Bruce Wayne. Batman is my favorite hero and I thank you for doing him justice. :)

Oh wow, I love this. Almost too much, actually. Everything about the way Bruce is standing is so smug and arrogant, and even though it's just an act, he's definitely pulling it off well. And of course, the Bat's pose is supremely badass. :D

Awesome work!

The Batman design is awesome, but I'm not really a fan of your Bruce.
Lord-of-the-Fandoms Featured By Owner Oct 9, 2011  Student General Artist
Awesome. Batman is the greatest being ever created, oh how i wish he was real....He uses Bruce Wayne as his alterego, Bruce is a character he made up and acts out. He made Mr. Wayne the total opposite of himself to throw off people from figuring out his secret identity. He is so deep and conflicted! :) It doesn't make him any less attractive though. :batman:
ZorraTheIllusion Featured By Owner Sep 26, 2011  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Amazing pic! Batman certainly is a lone spirit of vengeance, but he needs the Bruce wayne part of him to balance him out... but thats just my opinion! ;P

batman looks legit :3 i think your opinion is very right... though idk that he is taking vengeance or feeling the hate nesisarily but i believe he might be trying to stop others from feeling like he did, ya know?? and u should draw for comics, lol

lovin' that smug look on Bruce's face~
though your interpretation of Bruce is really dark, I'd think he'd be a bit more hopeful of an individual... just a bit.

Those poses steal the show here. Bruce's completely captures the playboy pose as you describe it, and Batman's, that bit holding the batarangs... too good. :)
Cerulean452 Featured By Owner Feb 23, 2011
I think you are right. The Bruce Wayne he shows the world is his real disguise.
I really like your drawing style. =)

Im your fan.
djopoed Featured By Owner Feb 1, 2011
great alterego :)
Wiggum42 Featured By Owner Jan 29, 2011
Yeah, you nailed it pretty damn well :) For people who don't read comics, it's sometimes easy to forget that Batman is the real person, not Bruce, 'cause Batman wears the mask, while Bruce is out in the open. So the Batman mask is actually more natural than Bruce's face.

Wow, I SO did not mean to compare Batman to Rorschach :o

Bruce Wayne is just a mask the Batman is the real face of Gotham
KarlyNoelleAbreu Featured By Owner Dec 3, 2010  Hobbyist Writer
I agree that Bats is driven by a desire for vengeance and his own definition of justice, but I don't really think hatred is a major motivator, except maybe early in his career. More like grief.

But I do love how well you contrast he and his Bruce Wayne persona, even by their postures.
yaya-koshiya Featured By Owner Jul 6, 2011
I was totally going to comment along these lines. I was looking through some of the other superheroes in the gallery, and felt some of the characterization was a bit dark, especially Dick Grayson/Nightwing/Robin. I've never read him as non-caring. Other than that, I love these character sheets. Kizer180 has unique stylization and the heroic poses are very dynamic.
KarlyNoelleAbreu Featured By Owner Jul 6, 2011  Hobbyist Writer
No, I think Kizer captures them well, but some of his written interpretation is a bit darker than I think they actually are. Not that the Batman family isn't dark, they most definitely are. But they all care deeply, that is a reason they do what they do.

Nothing but respect for Kizer's work though, he's great with the lines and expressions and colors.
